Selby

Selby entered the market with a bold vision: to become the go-to Mexican platform for buying and selling companies. The founders approached with a challenging mission: to compress a traditionally exhausting, multi-year financial transaction into a transparent 100-day process.

The spark behind Selby

The goal was clear—we needed to validate market interest and acquire early users by making a notoriously complex financial transaction feel safe and approachable for everyday entrepreneurs.

The challenge

In Mexico, selling a business is rarely straightforward. The traditional ecosystem is plagued by endless bureaucratic paperwork, high fraud risks that create a deep lack of trust, and severe confidentiality concerns.

As a brand-new startup, we had to make an unproven platform feel as secure and established as a traditional bank so users would feel comfortable sharing their sensitive data.

The solution

To overcome these systemic fears, we structured the MVP's narrative and user flow around absolute transparency and protection. Instead of relying on dense corporate narrative, the design and copy spoke directly to the user's peace of mind.

We focused the messaging on three non-negotiable pillars: guaranteeing total confidentiality to protect their identity, emphasizing the accelerated 100-day timeline, and assuring access exclusively to qualified buyers. This approach removed the guesswork and built immediate credibility.

By bridging the gap between heavy financial operations and a human-centered digital experience, the MVP turned an intimidating milestone into an approachable next step.

The clear visual hierarchy and empathetic storytelling simplified the process of valuing and selling a company.
